šæ 12th Fail: 5 Valuable Life Lessons Based On A True Story on Netflix
If you love the movie 3 Idiots, 12th Fail is your next favourite!
So, you know the drill. This type of movie will have a good ending. It has no jaw-dropping sci-fi scenes or drastic action stunts where 1 hero (wearing a tuxedo while eating roti canai kuah banjir) kicks 100 gangsters (that went to the same barbershop) while sitting.
And just in time, the mamak subtly appears in the frame, serving the heroās teh tarik order, right after all 100 gangsters lying on the ground with 50 shades of blushes on their faces.
I love loooove that kind of movie though, but this movie is packed with something else.
And that something else are:
Believe in oneself
Focus on your goals
The reality of success
The importance of a support system
A win-win sacrifice
Be firm with your principles
The 5 Valuable Lessons from 12 Fail Movie

š«” Believe in oneself
The main character, Manoj, is looked down upon by his classmates, his community, his English-speaking friends, and his exam coach. He comes from a humble background, but he has the power that no one else can take from him.
And that is the power of believing in oneself. Words kill. If we are thrown with negativity around the clock, it can grow in us ā if we let them.
You know yourself well, better than anyone. It is tough to ignore, but words are opinions, and choose the one that builds you, not breaks you to pieces.
Believe in Yourself.
šÆ Focus on your goals
Manoj failed his exam (again) and decided to visit his loverās hometown. He confessed his love to Shraddha (just through a phone call, donāt worry, not through a song with complex choreography š ), but the girl hesitated. Once the girl started missing him, Manoj decided to focus on his studies and retake the exam.
Yes, humans are complex and complicated ā like us.
He worked hard in the morning and only studied 6 hours at night, with 3 to 4 hours of sleeping time.
And that is dedication, that legend would advise.
This is just an example. Design your success the way it suits you. If napping helps you be more productive, do it. If studying at 5 a.m. makes you focus ten times more, go ahead and do that.
Sometimes, the best plan does not come from a book, a motivation workshop, the richest person, or the wisest person; it can be designed based on your daily routine.
Psst..Psst..or from my blog š.

š§š» The reality of success
Manoj failed many times and had gave up many times. I almost gave up watching him too. But his coach/tutor taught him one good tips. And that is to:
RESTART. Once you failed, you must remember to restart your journey again. The restart mindset put aside all the negativity that attracts from our low mood after receiving bad news. It reminds us to stop wasting time pondering and start feeling motivated to reach your goal.
I personally think for this tips, you need a cheerleader. Go and thank your loud, supportive friend.
My mother taught me that when we try again. It must come with a new strategy that is different from our previous attempt. We know what makes us fail, now take that lesson and embarks once again.
There is no guarantee you will succeed but if you fail, you learn something valuable. Life is an endless learning cycle.
š«°š»š The Importance of Support System
With all the adversity, Manoj is blessed with great support system from the start. His family, girlfriend and closed friends.
Support system does not have to be a big effort with big balloons and variety food options. Thatās a wedding. š But if that is your idea of being supportive, yeah go ahead nothing stopping you.
Sometimes what we say, although it is just a line, or as simple as, ā Hang in thereā. Make a huge impact in someoneās life.
There is one respectable officer that Manoj adored named Dushyant. He did not do anything massive, it was something he said that triggered Manojās success story.
Short PSA: I hope YOU are or will be blessed with the support system that you need in life. Psstā¦The Creator is already counted as one. š

š A win-win sacrifice
One turning point from the story was when Manoj almost gave up and returned to his hometown. He found out a few things, so you really need to watch it š.
The situation at his place did not changed much. Bribery is a way of living and honesty has no place to grow anywhere at that town.
He did not say that he wanted to come back home for good. But as soon as his mother said, āThe next time you come home, you will be wearing that (police) uniform, right?ā š
In life, sometimes we donāt know how to get there but we know WHY we have to get there. It starts with an aimless sacrifice and ends you and the people you love as winners. š
š¾ Be firm with your principles
Manoj was groomed to be a cheater. He then make a promise to himself not to ever ever cheat again.
When his future is at stake, a random man advised him that through cheating is the only way he could win. But, he firmly hold on to his principle ā and defeats the odds.
At times, when we hold on to our principles and do not get the results that we want, we change our principles to get to the fast lane.
If it change you from bad to good. Alhamdulilah.
If it is vice versa, you might get what you want, but youāll lose yourself along the way.
Trust your pace.
Trust your timing.
What you need comes at the right time.
